OSSBuy QC Checklist: What Photos Can and Cannot Verify
QC photos can help confirm visible identity, color, quantity, labels, measurements and obvious defects. They cannot prove authenticity, material composition, durability, internal construction, optical performance or seller reliability.

Match the received item before judging details
Keep the order record beside the images. Confirm that the photos refer to your item and selected variant. A warehouse label may connect an image to an order, but it is not a certificate of origin or composition.
Request the missing view
| Question | Useful photo or record | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Is this the selected option? | Overview plus readable model/size marking | Labels can be inaccurate |
| Is there visible damage? | Close-up in even lighting plus a wider view | Hidden areas remain unknown |
| Do dimensions match? | Ruler with clear endpoints and units | Perspective can distort length |
| Are all parts present? | Entire set laid out together | Function is not established |
Use category-specific checks
- Shoes: compare both shoes, visible sole condition, size labels and the meaning of any insole measurement.
- Clothing: compare front and back, seams in view, fastenings and requested flat measurements.
- Bags: check the opening, strap attachments, closures and included pieces.
- Eyewear: check frame alignment, visible lens damage and listed frame dimensions; photos do not establish optical or UV performance.
Turn a concern into a precise request
Describe the location and the visible issue rather than declaring the whole item good or bad. Ask whether another view or measurement is available. Before requesting a return, check the current seller and agent terms, timing and fees. We have not tested a return or an inspection service for these listings.
When additional verification is needed
Request another angle, a readable label or a clearly positioned measurement when the available images do not answer the exact question. If the issue concerns material, authenticity, function or safety rather than visible condition, a warehouse photo may not resolve it. Check current timing and return costs before deciding.
Keep the next step specific.
Questions worth asking.
Can QC photos authenticate a product?
No. Images alone do not establish authenticity, manufacturer identity or authorized distribution.
Does approving a photo guarantee the item will last?
No. A photo does not test durability, hidden defects, material composition or real-world performance.
